Touch of The Damned

TOUCH OF THE DAMNED

A winter day, a cloudy sky,

A hint of a tear in her eye,

Her cradle of misfortune rocked by the winds,

Nobody cares, a lonely song she sings

Through the halls of blind souls she walks,

On the door to her heart no one knocks,

They stare at her empty minds,

The light of the day she never finds

Burning grass, stagnant leaves,

The sun goes down, darkness creeps,

She looks back on shattered dreams, visions,

Seeking to reach the touch of humans

The Final Assault

The Final Assault

Chugging down the runway at 35 knots,

The desperate BF-109 pilot was beset by a myriad of thoughts,

His untrained eyes peered across the horizon

As he confirmed boresight, sweaty palms on the trigger of his gun

His wingman alerted him, bogeys at 10 O’ clock

The allied bombers were definitely in for a shock

B 17’s shattering through the icy winds of December

The light shone of our pilot’s badge, Sonderkommando  Elbe

Silently he aligned his craft, parallel to the enemy

Ready to ram the empennage, the plane echoed the cry of a banshee

Bandit at 6 0’clock! Shouted the tail gunner

Firing shots into the sky, the enemy he did not deter

The propellers broke through the flying fortress

Our pilot, a glimpse of reputation, sank into the brightness

His cockpit flew open, seat ejected out

As he saw the enemy burn towards the ground

Parachuting slowly down, the patriot had nothing to say,

A Kamikaze, who indeed lived another day.
