Inspiration

by Parthsarathi on Jul.26, 2010, under Poems

Inspired by a girl I met from Sierra Leone, West Africa. She was enslaved there once.
————————————————————————————-

Locked inside a pigment of her imagination,

A speck of hope for a train to stop at her station,

Her shackles tell us the story of her past,

An eternal struggle until she breathes her last.

The Unsigned Epitaph

The Unsigned Epitaph

Veiled behind the darkness no light reaches his eyes,

Every time he sees her, his iron heart cries,

She looks at him, her thoughts unchanged,

He wonders where her love had waned

Hidden behind a shield of ignorance to suffering she was blind,

No matter how much he searched, it was vision he could never find,

She glimpsed at him for one last time before confirming the harness,

Just another shadow in the darkness.

Cliché

by Parthsarathi on Oct.30, 2009, under Poems

Cliché

Trains subways cars people, an era of confusion

Humans dominating Mother earth, its all an illusion

Forgetting who they are in a desperate attempt to live

Not caring for their brothers and sisters unwilling to take or give

The only things these mortals take are lives

Their stagnant apartments cover the sky, repugnant beehives

Nothing can extricate the ego that resides within their mind

Conceited fools they are, to honesty they are blind

The Sunday tabloid, broadsheets, just scraps of paper

At neither sorrow nor joy will they ever caper

There she lies, the forgotten Mother

No one giving a damn about the other
